Fantasy Super Rugby Week 13: Don’t Touch, Pause, Engage.

Kerevi, Kerevi, Keveri. There were three groups of managers last. Those that didn’t have Kerevi, those that had him but didn’t captain, and those that jumped up the league. Outside of the big man points were relatively few and few between, with both the games I flagged up as being tight, not delivery a huge amount of points. It really is the Championship run in now, so here’s this week’s transfer ideas.

Teams on a BYE: Jags and Reds.

Teams with Tough Match-ups: Again this week two of the meanest defences, and best attacks face up to each other. Will it be a repeat of last week for the Chiefs and Crusaders? I think the Chiefs will fare better than the Canes and they’ll be points on offer. Not as much as usual, but enough. The Kings, Reds and Stormers have the stastically worst defences, but with Kings and Stormers at home I think both those cames could be close. The ‘Landers might also find it tough going against a Force team who had a great result last week.

Injury Watch: Lambie didn’t last long and was cleaned out by his own man. Snyman and Naholo are both suspended this week, but for the full run down check out the casualty ward.

Scott Higginbotham or Karmichael Hunt – I know they are both on a bye but its time to take the cash and run with those guys in my opinion, there way better options out there especially at Center.

Codie Taylor – He did well last week but against the Chiefs I think he wont do that well besides there are better hookers out there with easier fixtures.

There’s no byes next week, so there’s little reason to ship players unless you have to.

The only players I might look at swapping out if I don’t need to would be Blues players. They have two tough matches – I expect the Stormers to be MUCH better at home, then a lay-up against the Reds before a bye. Manu’s injured so needs to be replaced, but both Ioane’s will start to see a drop off so it’s not a bad time to cash in, although you’ll likely get more money next week, just not the performance you can find elsewhere.

Naholo – Again despite not starting this week because of his red card last weekend, he could come in handy next week. I’ve binned him before and struggled to get him and Kerevi back in. If I can make the sums work I’ll be holding them both.

Waratahs – I’m going to hold off bring Tah’s in. They’ve been on a good run and have a juicy match-up this week, but then two very tough games away in NZ against the Highlanders and Chiefs. I’m steering clear of one week wonders.

Hurricanes and more Hurricanes – The game against the cheetahs should be open and like Feast says Boden at 15 could be dangerous, maybe he’s learnt a few things from his brother at 15…

Philip van der Walt – Play 6 against the Sunwolves and on the game as a lock could be very lucrative.

Kwagga – Averaging 35 points over the last 3 games, I think he is starting to find some form and is great value at $201K against the slow and unfit Bulls.

Image result for professor xBeauden Barret – if you don’t have him, then you’ve been burnt already, but starting at 15 should give him plenty of opportunity for run metres, tackle busts and line breaks.

Hurricanes – outside of that get Cane’s in for the next 3 games. Laumape is pretty good value at Centre now, Aso even more so but slightly risker than Laumape. Julian Savea is also a steal after last week, but hasn’t been getting that involved so is high risk, high reward at OBK, which has been a difficult position this year, even more so with Naholo suspended.

After Canes I’m going Lions who probably have an easier run than the canes, but also have a bye to contend with. However, you can pretty much fill up your roster from any position for them across a variety of price points:

Hooker – Marx, Lock – Mostert, Flanker – Whitely, Ackerman, Smith (I really hope you followed my advice on smith last week).

Jantjies is a good value FH, Coetzee the same at OBK and Mahuza even better value.

Brodie – if like me you had to ditch him try to get him back. He’s awesome.

Prop – Manu, who’s been epic this season has got crocked. You can go like for like and put Tu’ungafasi in. He’ll get points, but I’m not sure how long he’ll start. Or you load up on even more canes and get big Jeff TA in.
